Types of certificates and what they confirm:

The following certificates confirm that our beds have passed a series of professional tests verifying their strength, stability and safety of use. Thanks to these tests, we know that our products comply with applicable regulations and provide the highest level of protection. Our products are certified by a reputable institution: the Inspection Institute.

Clean and safe lacquers

EN 71-3

Guarantees that the lacquers and surface finishes used on the bed do not contain harmful chemical substances that could migrate and pose a health risk, especially to children.

FSC Certificate (Forest Stewardship Council)

Confirms that the wood used to manufacture our beds comes from sustainably and responsibly managed forests, with respect for the environment and local communities. By choosing LANO, you support responsible forest management.

Standard for bunk beds and raised beds

PN-EN 747-1+A1:2015-08

Applies to the safety and strength of bunk beds and raised beds (over 60 cm above the floor), focusing on beds longer than 140 cm and up to 120 cm wide.

  1. Safe construction: All edges and corners are rounded, with no burrs or sharp parts.
  2. Component strength: The bed is tested for vertical and horizontal loads to ensure that elements such as guard rails and the base do not become damaged or deformed. For example, safety rails are tested with a downward force of 1,000 N (approx. 100 kg).
  3. Safe openings and gaps: Moving parts of the bed (e.g. folding frames) are designed safely – distances are up to 7 mm or between 12–25 mm to prevent trapping.
  4. Ladder stability: The ladder undergoes rigorous load testing, including a static vertical load of 1,200 N (approx. 120 kg) on each step.
  5. User warnings: It is stated that bunk beds and top bunks are not suitable for children under 6 years of age. The instructions also include other important safety warnings.
  6. Mattress information: The recommended maximum mattress height is 12 cm.

Standard for low (floor-level) beds

PN-EN 1725:2024-04

This standard covers the safety, strength and durability requirements for all types of beds.

  1. No sharp edges or burrs: All parts that the user touches during normal use are free from burrs, sharp edges and open ends.
  2. Safe moving mechanisms: If the bed has moving parts (e.g. folding frames), the distances between them are safe – up to 7 mm or between 12–25 mm – to prevent trapping.
  3. Stability: The bed is tested for tipping to ensure the stability of the structure.
  4. Strength and durability: The bed undergoes static strength tests, e.g. loading the most critical points with a force of 1,400 N (approx. 140 kg) for 30 seconds.

Furniture for domestic use (applies to the SOFINO model)

PN-EN 12520:2015

This certificate confirms that the SOFINO model meets additional, more detailed requirements and is ideally suited to everyday challenges in a home environment.

Furniture for commercial and public use (applies to the SOFINO model)

PN-EN 16139:2013

This is an extension of the PN-EN 12520:2015 standard and is crucial for the SOFINO model when it is intended for use in high-load environments such as hotels. The difference lies in a significantly higher number of test cycles (e.g. the backrest is leaned 100,000 times). This demonstrates the increased durability and robustness of the bed under intensive use and guarantees reliability even in demanding commercial environments.
